CampusCentral.com is finally ready … for BETA!
Hello there. Welcome to the wonderful world of three young entrepreneurs who came together to build CampusCentral.com. Our main goal (COMMITMENT) with the site is to link students across Canada and fully enhance their Life Outside the Classroom.

This blog will provide frequent updates on the team and the things we are working on. So without further ado … meet Dan, Chris and Dave. We have worked hard together over the past two years and finally the site is up and running. Please be gentle as we are in BETA and hoping the community can help us find any bugs.
Enjoy!

Last night at The Rooster, bar and nightclub in Peterborough Ont, fellow college and university students joined us to celebrate the official launch of CampusCentral.com. It was a great night and I am pretty sure fun was had by all.
Special thanks to Pete and his staff. Check out the event pics
No commentsTemporary Site Outage
Sorry for the short notice everyone but the site will be down tonight from 7:30pm - midnight (eastern time). We are performing some upgrades you will find most useful (we hope so anyway)!
Rest assured the guys won’t leave the office until the site is live.

CampusCentral 2.0
In keeping with the true spirit of the post secondary social life, CampusCentral.com has added student profiles to the site. The profiles incorporate both static content- about the student,
picture sharing and dynamic blogs- where students can share their daily experiences and much more.
The idea behind profiles is to put a face to the student community and to create social interaction between them. Whether you are looking for new or old friends, a date for Friday night, or a tutor to help with your math homework, CampusCentral’s profiles are the new way for students to enhance their life outside the classroom!
On the same note the site now includes classified listings and a new messaging system. Instead of lugging around that old couch, or buying new dishes each year, students can buy, sell and trade their artifacts (well pretty much anything they want) online to the student community. Listing classifieds are completely FREE and easy to do.
If you have any questions or comments about the new features please drop us a line.
Cheers,
No commentsBack to School
I am sitting here eating breakfast reading the morning paper and can’t help but be bombarded with “Back to School savings” ads from Staples, Best Buy, Walmart, and Home Depot – well ok not Home Depot but there is literally an ad on every page! So back to my point … where did summer go?
The beginning of September always marks the return to the books. It’s exciting at first with moving into a new place and away from parents, doing the frosh week thing
, and the few keg parties to launch into a new year. But inevitably, the assignments and reading starts to pile on and we sometimes wonder that keeping the summer job might have been a better idea.
So, not to bash on Back to School as I have always been a big fan. It’s a new year and a fresh start for everyone. Plus we are always happy to have our community back in full swing! Plus this year is going to be a great year and to start it off we are giving away a Dell Laptop. That’s not it either. We have tons of cool events and contests planned for this 2006 – 2007 school year.
Glad everyone is back

No commentsShinerama Love Tour
We are so psyched about this! Shinerama has always been a cause that all founding members of CampusCentral.com have participated in. For those of you who don’t know, but should, Shinerama is Students raising money to help the fight against Cystic Fibrosis.
The Shinerama Love Tour is designed to be a capstone event for the 2006 Shinerama campaign. An opportunity to celebrate and promote
the accomplishments of the campaign and its volunteers, while continuing to raise funds and awareness for Shinerama and the fight against CF. The tour will include sixteen musical performances, lead by Mike Allison, in all ten provinces, stopping in Canada’s largest cities to highlight and support the work of each community’s Shinerama volunteers.
Campuscentral.com will act as the official tour headquarters (along with being a major sponsor), and will be showcasing all the photos, videos, and of course music from the tour!
We hope you will come out and show your support and get a chance to meet the CampusCentral team!
No commentsNew Feature: Changing your Profile Status
When you sign up for an account on CampusCentral.com you are given fully access to all our services. We realize that it should be your choice to which services you want to use. So now you have the ability to hide your profile (better late than never!!). This means, you can still post listings in books, classifieds, events, and the message board but you won’t have a personal profile listing.
Simply follow these four steps to hide your profile;
Step 1: Log into your MyCampus account
Step 2: Select ‘edit profile’ from the MyCampus Dashboard
Step 3: In the edit profile section, Click on the ‘edit’ button to modify your personal settings (see screen shot)

Step 4: The last option in the Profile Info section allows you to choose whether or not your profile is displayed on the site.
If you wish to enable your profile later in the future, follow the same four steps above.
Hope this helps
